Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a method of measuring personal flow through door openings using the laser scanner RPLIDAR. An experiment was carried out November 2nd 2016 in the fire laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, Lund University. This report is limited to finding the potential for future applications based on the experimental data obtained.

During the experiment the laser scanners were placed above a constructed door opening continuously collecting data on passing participants. Collected data were then analyzed and compared with a film captured by video cameras, acting as a verifying method of measurement. The method of measurement showed potential, however, further development was considered to be required.
