The further purpose of the work is to make practical use of my conclusions and findings in the planning of my own future as a guitarist. The survey shows that important keys to success as a guitarist include a strong, general interest in music and a desire to perform, a certain specialization within a genre or instrumental niche, social skills, the ability to continuously deliver high quality when performing, and a personal commitment to advance in one’s career.
