"Vi är verklighetens röst" - En kritisk diskursanalys av Sverigedemokraternas jämställdhetspolitik

Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to analyse what ideas the gender politics of the Swedish nationalist party the Swedish Democrats consists of. The purpose of the study is to identify what they mean when talking about gender inequality and how women are portrayed in material concerning this issue. The objects of the study are written texts, pictures and a video produced by their women’s association SD-kvinnor together with the part of their party program that concerns family- and gender politics. In order to analyse the concept of their gender politics a critical discourse analysis model is used as the method of the thesis together with the theoretical approach of intersectional feminist theory and social semiotics.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse what ideas the gender politics of the Swedish nationalist party the Swedish Democrats consists of. The purpose of the study is to identify what they mean when talking about gender inequality and how women are portrayed in material concerning this issue. The thesis highlights how women are projected in their produced material but also which groups they ignore and how the problems of gender inequality are defined. The result shows that women are mostly projected as mothers and as a part of the nuclear family and that the real threat against gender equality is identified as the increasing violence against women in public spaces.
