Abstract
This study examined which of the Big five theory personality traits that had more or less inclination to develop a risk behavior connected to alcohol consumption, during the time as a student at Lunds University. Social structures and pressures, but also the physical and cognitive consequences of alcohol consumption were relevant and significant for our hypotheses and conclusions. The study results indicated that high results on Neuroticism had a correlation with the risk behavior of alcohol consumption. Extrovert individuals drink more and more often according to the results, and we could also see a negative correlation between Conscientiousness and drinking habits and drinking motivators. The cause behind the correlation was further... (More)

The cause behind the correlation was further investigated through deep interviews, where we were even more interested in the social structures and consequences of alcohol consumption. The focus was on which individuals, dependent on personality traits, that felt the most affected by student life, as well as reasons why student life had such an effect. Interesting pointers were also raised about how student life affects people's personality or if personality in accordance with our results is deducted to student
life. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(Less)
