Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to problematize and discuss the mobilization and communication of online-based activists, so-called “clicktivists”, in an organizational crisis. The study examines the case of the Gothenburg Book Fair, where the organization’s Facebook page became an arena for debate because of a far-right newspaper’s plans to attend the book fair. The study examines the discourses produced by the clicktivists in the crisis through a combination of the Fairclough's critical discourse analysis theory and the rhetorical arena theory. The result shows that the clicktivists framed the crisis as a struggle over the concept of freedom of speech. The political left, the media and the establishment were portrayed as the hegemonic power... (More)

The result shows that the clicktivists framed the crisis as a struggle over the concept of freedom of speech. The political left, the media and the establishment were portrayed as the hegemonic power in society that decides which thoughts that are allowed. A majority of the discourses belongs to a far-right school of thought. The case shows that clicktivists with populist agendas uses organizational crises to further their worldview. (Less)
