Through a qualitative case study of Syrian highly skilled refugees this research contributes to discussions on the labour market integration of refugees in Sweden, emphasizing their socially situated context of individuals and their lived experiences related to the responsiveness of the Establishment Programme to their service employment needs. The findings emphasise variation in the appropriateness of service provision to refugees’ needs, skills and interests. The thesis concludes by arguing that responsiveness of the Establishment Programme to highly skilled refugees’ needs is limited by structural factors within the Establishment Programme. (Less)
