- Traffic is increasing in the cities and most of the main roads are not designed for today's traffic, this creates environmental problems like noise and air pollution. Road users choose other roads that are not intended for through traffic, leading to congestion and dense traffic. Many urban areas are exposed to this problem and there are many measures that can be taken, however, not all measures can be relevant to certain urban areas. Public transport is not sufficiently fast and easy today, as it could be an attractive alternative. Travel by city traffic has barely increased in the past fifteen years, and public transport is less than in other equal cities according to the action program.
