- Abstract
- Explaining how social regulations of inclusion among raid-oriented guilds in World of Warcraft are regulated by code was the approach chosen for this thesis, as an attempt to take on the perspective of consensus. By looking for consensus rather than conflict, it was possible to detect possible indicators for social exclusion in the code of the in- game environment.
Data on social norms was collected via direct observation on the rankings site, WoWProgress. Audit Spreadsheet was used as complementary data. A thematic data analysis was conducted to distinguish two themes: resources, and consensus
