To thematise the material we used a Framework analyse and the central themes were based on Schofield and Beek’s caregiving dimensions. The study revealed that in the cases where the authors described their foster placement as successful, they had established a safe attachment. The foster parents in these foster placements had the ability to establish all caregiving dimensions, which could be the reason why these foster homes were described as a successful foster placements.
