- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to investigate school counselors approach towards, and experience of, working with lgbtq in school. The survey was conducted through semi-structured interviews with six school counselors working with students in age six-fifteen and sixteen-eighteen. The result of the study showed that all school counselors experienced the school environment as excluding for lgbtq-students. The school counselors who showed an interest in the question also showed a deeper understanding of the problem. They regarded themselves as an important part of changing the prerequisites for these students by introducing a norm critical work at school.
