To analyse the material, organization theory, was applied as well as the concept of, collaboration. Previous research conducted on the history of social work in Sweden shows that the Church of Sweden tangents with the government. The study shows that both deacons and social workers view the Church of Sweden and the social services as two organizations with similar goals and objectives, and working towards a similar understanding of collaboration. Their way of viewing the differences between the two organizations, is that they follow different rules and principles. The study shows that division of responsibility is vague and not set. According to collaboration theory, the two organizations are stuck in the first phase of collaboration. All interviewees were positive towards each other’s work with clients, but they did not have a deeper knowledge about what resources the other organization held. It further shows that the interviewees were positive to a future collaboration but pointed out that it probably would take a long time to create it. Collaboration between the two of them does not exist in an outspoken opinion, but it exists in some cases, because of initiative of individual actors. (Less)
