Abstract
"Here, there is only love" - A qualitative interview study about the players experience of the football team Gatans Lag

The aim of this study was to describe and analyse how the players on the Swedish football team Gatans Lag experience how the organisation contributes to their life situation. The study was based on eight semistructured interviews with players from the team. During the coding of the data we found four themes: the social contribution of the team, the physical contribut-ion of the team, other contributions of the team that help the players in their recovery, and Gatans Lag in relation to alcohol and other drugs addiction treatments. The analysis was ba-sed on the salutogenesis theory about sense of coherence by Antonovsky... (More)

The analysis was ba-sed on the salutogenesis theory about sense of coherence by Antonovsky (1987) and the con-cept of social capital originated by Bourdieu (1977). The result of the study shows that the most important part of the team was the social contribution. The new friends and being a part of a community is what helped the players the most in their recovery. The interviewees also underline that Gatans Lag could not replace alcohol and drug treatment, but is a good com-pliment that helps them to stay clean. (Less)
