Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine how organisations present their arguments regarding international homosexual adoption. The material of this study consisted of texts and the analysis have been based on the arguments from referral responses regarding the bill SOU 2001:10 (Children in homosexual families). The result was based on two different analyzes, where we first identified the arguments and secondly analyzed the arguments in relation to Judith Butler's theory about the heterosexual matrix. The result was based on two different analyzes, where we first identified the arguments and secondly analyzed the arguments in relation to Judith Butler's theory about the heterosexual matrix. One of the results that we found was that the adoption organizations had a negative attitude towards homosexual adoption. Two of their reasons why the organizations were negative was that they claimed there was a non acceptance from the society and that it was not in the best interest of the child to have homosexual parents. Other results that we found important was that the arguments from  the adoption organizations was based on the assumption of heteronormativity. Many results revealed that both pro and con arguments showed the same reasons why homosexual adoption should or should not be legal. In conclusion we found that the organisations preserved the traditional gender roles and was not trying to make an effort to change the norms about heterosexual parenting being the preferable. (Less)
