The assumption made in the beginning of the research was that “greed” would be the most important reason for businesses to engage in development issues. After conducting the qualitative semi-structured interviews, the analysis however showed that “creed”, i.e. personal conviction and a will to engage in development, was more important in this specific case study. Another discovery made was how the environment in which business is active can promote and support business engagement. In summary, the political as well as business climate in Sweden is a fruitful one for business to engage. (Less)
