It is interesting to observe how women with feminist values navigate and influence the public and the private sphere since they are more likely to challenge women’s oppression. In order to uncover how feminists navigate through heterosexuality and its structural power dynamics, this research has employed qualitative methods in the form of interviews conducted with young couples. This thesis uncovers love as a political issue, demonstrating that men still tend to deny women’s needs while women lack recognition and validation. In addition, this thesis asserts the importance of the state in the process of reaching gender equality in all spheres. (Less)
