Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to describe and analyze which resources different types of new companies demand in the start-up process, and which of these resources a university incubator offers these companies. The study thus aims to explore and describe the matching process between supply and demand for resources.
Methodology: The research strategy used is a qualitative case study, where the empirical data has been collected through semi-structured interviews.
Theoretical perspective: The research areas the study focuses on are network, consulting and financing. These three areas are studied as they are emphasized as being of great importance for newly started companies of previous literature.
Empirical foundation: The empirical... (More)

Theoretical perspective: The research areas the study focuses on are network, consulting and financing. These three areas are studied as they are emphasized as being of great importance for newly started companies of previous literature.
Empirical foundation: The empirical data presents the data from the qualitative interviews with representatives from the companies and the incubator manager at VentureLab. The four companies' reports constitute four case studies that are analyzed both individually and compared with each other in a comparative analysis.
Conclusions: The result shows that the matching process for networks worked well in many respects. Consulting is one area where both the company's demand and VentureLab's range have differed, whereupon the matching has not been as striking for this area. A lot of consulting, VentureLab has matched via external contacts. At the same time, the companies have benefited greatly from the advice that can be obtained via the other peers in the incubator. VentureLab has to some extent offered financial support directly to the companies, and also indirectly by helping them with difficulties regarding sales. (Less)
