This paper aims to examine the accessibility to outdoor recreation opportunities for the people of Scania. This was analysed by using network analysis in GIS (geographic information systems) but also with the framework of time geography and constraints on human activities in time and space. In order to secure opportunities for outdoor recreation in Swedish municipals, the Objectives for Outdoor Recreation Policy should be integrated in spatial planning and Municipal Comprehensive Planning. The Objectives for Outdoor Recreation Policy document where analysed in a qualitative analysis to examine in what way they contribute to health. In order to study the integration of Outdoor Recreation Policy, a case study of two of Scanias municipals was conducted in which documents were analysed in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The result shows that the Objectives for Outdoor Recreation Policy were partly integrated in the Municipal Comprehensive Planning and that there were big differences in accessibility to outdoor recreation opportunities between different groups in the studied case. The analysis of the Objectives for Outdoor Recreation Policy shows, that by being integrated in the municipals work, they help to strengthen the health of people. (Less)
