Allions case study Essence of Decision in order to illustrate the decision making in Great Britain and how their act resulted in the controversial conflict Suez crisis in the mid 20th-century. The thesis will analyze two main governmental decision making and what caused the decision based on two models: the rational actor model and the governmental politics model. The models have different ways of describing and analyzing the factors that caused the specific decision. The rational actor model viewed that the decision with most pay off was to invest in the Suez Canal Company in order to contribute to the economic growth in Great Britain. The governmental politics model viewed that the decision was a resultat of a political game where Anthony Eden and Harold Macmillan shared same goal and collaborated. (Less)
