Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine students gaming habits and what function playing computer games fulfil for students. The study was conducted with the help of a survey methodology and was sent to 500 students at Lunds university. The students got selected via an unbound random selection. 52 participants answered the survey. They majority of students plays computer games. Regarding those who play computer games the majority was men and men were also higher rated when comparing how long time they play computer games per session. Some major functions could be linked with gaming. The purpose of playing for entertainment and to relax were the two strongest functions in this study.
