The concept of nation-state is central to unifying two cases within the scope of one project, not least due to its significance in the process of discursive formation concerning irregular migration. In order to fulfil its intended purpose this study employs the method of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and conducts a discursive analysis of two speech acts produced by respective head of state and head of government in two states in the aftermath of 2015.
