Abstract (Swedish)
This study investigates the relationship between prior entrepreneurial intent and perceived learning outcomes of students entering a new venture creation programme. Previous research in this field has not addressed the influence of prior entrepreneurial intentions on learning outcomes but rather treated entrepreneurial intent as an outcome of entrepreneurship education. Therefore, the aim of this study is to gain insight into what role prior entrepreneurial intentions play in the development of perceived learning outcomes. A qualitative study was done in the form of an embedded case study that collects primary and secondary data of a sample of ten informants from Lund University's New Venture Creation track. Following Eisenhardt's methodology a cross-case analysis was done between informants, that led to the identification of four clusters reflecting differences in prior entrepreneurial intent and possible related constructs of perceived learning outcomes. These clusters were constructions of existing and emerging concepts from the findings which largely contribute to the academic field as the different compositions and interactions between these concepts have further implications for investigating the influence of prior entrepreneurial intent on perceived learning outcomes. The practical implications of the research primarily apply to entrepreneurship educators as they can acquire a better understanding of how prior entrepreneurial intent may influence the perceived learning outcomes of students which they can implement into entrepreneurship curricula.
