- Abstract
- This thesis was conducted on CG Drives & Automation (Emotron), a company that invests in developing products and solutions to control and monitor electrical motors. One of their more popular product is the effective and energy saving Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). However, the usage of an VFD leads to higher THD levels in the system, which then creates harmful harmonics. The quality of the grid current will degrade due to the harmonics and therefore the harmonics should be eliminated.
This bachelor thesis examines the elimination of these harmonics through a 2-level active filter and built a foundation for future development of a 3-level active filter. - Abstract (Swedish)
- Detta examensarbete utfördes på CG Drives & Automation (Emotron). Företaget satsar på att utveckla produkter och lösningar för att styra och övervaka elektriska motorer. En av deras mer populära produkter är den effektiva och energisparande frekvensomriktaren. Dess positiva egenskaper kommer även med en negativ effekt, nämligen en ökning av THD nivån i systemet. Med denna ökning uppkommer skadliga övertoner som i sin tur leder till försämrad kvalité på nätströmmen och därför ska övertonerna elimineras.
Detta examensarbete undersöker två metoder av eliminering med hjälp av ett 2-nivå aktivt filter och har lagt grunden till framtida arbete för utveckling av ett 3-nivå aktivt filter.
