Denna studie avsåg att undersöka förekomsten och fördelningen av psykologisk trygghet och affektivt engagemang hos kontorspersonal som arbetar i team. Vidare syftade denna studie till att undersöka till vilken grad variablerna samvarierar med varandra, samt gentemot olika
demografiska faktorer. På grund av undersökningens tvärsnittsdesign kunde inga kausala samband fastställas. En digital enkät skickades ut via programmet Google Formulär till 169 kontorsanställda vid en affärsenhet på ett svenskt energiföretag, varav 91 personer deltog.

Resultatet från denna studie visade att majoriteten av deltagarna rapporterade höga nivåer av psykologisk trygghet och att ungefär två tredjedelar av deltagarna upplevde högt affektivt engagemang. Resultatet visade även på en svag positiv korrelation mellan psykologisk trygghet och affektivt engagemang bland kontorsanställda. Det påvisades att ålder
korrelerade svagt positivt med psykologisk trygghet och hade en måttlig positiv korrelation gentemot affektivt engagemang. Vidare visade datan att arbetsrollen chefer rapporterade högre nivåer av affektivt engagemang jämfört med medarbetare. Slutligen identifierades en signifikant skillnad i psykologisk trygghet utifrån hur länge deltagarna hade arbetat i samma
roll, samt en skillnad i affektivt engagemang i förhållande till total anställningstid som närmade sig signifikans. Fynden bekräftar i mångt och mycket tidigare forskning. Möjliga förklaringar diskuterades kring samvariationen mellan engagemang, ålder och deltagarnas arbetsroller. Däremot utkristalliserades inga möjliga förklaringar till varför psykologisk trygghet samvarierade med variabeln tid i nuvarande roll. Det rekommenderades att framtida forskning utforskar dem kausala sambanden för att förstå samvariationerna bättre. (Less)

Furthermore, the study intended to explore if the variables correlated with each other and in relation to demographic variables. Due to the cross-sectional design of the study, no causal relationships could be determined. A digital survey was sent out through Google Forms to 169 white-collar workers at a business unit at a Swedish energy company, of which 91 employees participated. study identified a significant difference in psychological safety in relation to participants’time in their current position, as well as a difference in affective commitment in relation to total time of employment that approached significance. The findings largely confirm previous
research. Possible explanations were discussed regarding the correlation between commitment, age and the participants’ work roles. However, no possible explanations emerged regarding why psychological safety correlated with the participants’ time in their current positions. It was recommended that future research explore the causal relationships to understand the correlations better. (Less)
