The report has received critique from various actors in the context of both debates, linked by the lack of defining ‘sustainable development’. The thesis aims to provide a better understanding of what the report communicates, and thus a better understanding of what direction Swedish forestry policy is heading. Through a qualitative idea analysis, utilizing a theoretical framework on visions of sustainability, the thesis has found that the report communicates a view that corresponds with the Three Pillar Model. The findings are then placed in the context of the ongoing debate on Swedish forestry policy, where it is found that the sustainability view adheres to the arguments of the forest industries. (Less)
