Abstract
To limit global warming to 1.5°C, concerted efforts to drastically reduce GHG emissions by 2030 are needed. Lund municipality has ambitious climate goals for 2030, however, high emissions from transport and especially private car use endanger their achievement. Building on transition management, this thesis aimed at supporting Lund’s climate goals by developing a knowledge base for the implementation of transition experiments that reduce car use. By means of a systematic literature and document review (N=28 documents), 12 intervention types combining different measures and policy instruments were identified as effective in reducing car use. Most interventions were planned and decided in collaboration with different urban stakeholders.... (More)

Most interventions were planned and decided in collaboration with different urban stakeholders. Based on interviews with four experts of Lund’s transport sector, six interventions were identified as high or moderate potential transition experiments. The thesis recommends three transition experiments to reduce car use in Lund: Parking & Traffic Control, Workplace Parking Charge and Mobility Services for Commuters. (Less)
