Likabehandlingsträning på arbetsplatsen - Är upplevelsebaserad intervention bättre än föreläsning?
(2021) PSPR14 20211Department of Psychology
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less) - Abstract
- The purpose of present study was to examine if an equal treatment workshop would lessen prejudice and increase perspective taking, psychological flexibility, compassion, and connectedness to one’s values. The control group received a lecture with information regarding prejudice, discrimination, and diversity in the workplace. The study also examined whether there was a relation between Social Dominance Orientation (SDO) and prejudice. The present study was conducted in the final stage of a research project, that aimed to gain evidence on methods for antidiscrimination work in the workplace. The design of the present study was a randomized controlled trial, with data collected from experimental and control group pre and post intervention.... (More)

The design of the present study was a randomized controlled trial, with data collected from experimental and control group pre and post intervention. The participants were recruited through two larger organizations, 59 participants finalized the study.
The results showed no significant difference between workshop and lecture group in prejudice, perspective taking, psychological flexibility, compassion, or connectedness to one’s values. Both experiment and control group did decrease in reported prejudice. The relation between SDO and prejudice was significant. The present study does not confirm earlier research that has shown promising results with similar equal treatment workshops, although it shows auspicious results for decreasing prejudice with minimal resources.
