Abstract
Entrepreneurial Passion has been directly and indirectly related with positive outcomes such as improved self-efficacy, persistence, and venture performance. However, an underexplored concept within entrepreneurship research is Team Entrepreneurial Passion, and to our knowledge there is no research on the interplay between Entrepreneurial Education, individual Entrepreneurial Passion and the emergence of Team Entrepreneurial Passion. This thesis aims to explore this interplay by studying four entrepreneurial teams and their individuals who have been enrolled in, and are formed within the new venture track of the masters programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Lund University. This thesis aims to explore this interplay by studying four entrepreneurial teams and their individuals who have been enrolled in, and are formed within the new venture track of the masters programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Lund University. In this thesis an inductive approach is applied. Empirical data is gathered through conducting semi-structured interviews with each individual. Common themes and dimensions, leading to the findings, are derived through 1st and 2nd order categorization. Firstly, the findings show that the passion of incoming students for entrepreneurship is not limited to specific activities. Secondly, we find an interplay between Entrepreneurial Passion and Entrepreneurial Education cohort composition. Thirdly, we find an indication that previous levels of Entrepreneurial passion may affect how the individual perceives Entrepreneurial Education context and activities, and that this may play a role in the emergence of individual Entrepreneurial Passion. Finally, we find an interplay with the Entrepreneurial Education context, activities and structure and the emergence and development of Individual and Team Entrepreneurial Passion. The finding of this thesis suggests future research on [1] Team Entrepreneurial Passion, [2] its interplay with Entrepreneurial Education and [3] the role of affect and emotion within Entrepreneurial Education.
