Linder, Jonathan LU (2022) IMSK01 20212
Division of Intermedia Studies
Abstract
This study aims to discuss how gender roles are represented in the Japanese manga book Berserk by Kentaro Miura, by focusing on the characters Guts and Casca. This will be done using intermedial theories. By adapting the four modalities and the basic media discussed by Lars Elleström and Hans Lund, it can be applied to make an analysis on the study object. In addition, the purpose will be to examine the multidimensional level the characters are at, based on feminist theories of de/construction. The analysis will be performed by methods such as a qualitative case study together with an image analysis.
