Abstract
Juvenile delinquency is a topic that is well mentioned in social media and in politics. The aim of this study was to explore the circumstances and relationships that may contribute to young people turning to crime. The method chosen for this study was to conduct qualitative interviews with six different people, who were active criminals in their youth. The social bond theory, the strain theory, and the labeling theory were used to analyze the results. The study found that the motive for a young person turning to crime is extremely individual and that it is not possible to draw general conclusions.
