Cultural violence manifests through the economic model, prioritising mines over reindeer herding because of the wealth a mine would bring. The cultural violence of the “lapp-ska-vara-lapp” mentality can be seen in how the government makes decisions regarding what conditions should be posed against the company without consulting the Sami people, although Swedish law states that they should do so.
