Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand how the politicians in the Swedish parliament have spoken about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the parties involved in the conflict and other conflicts the parties have been involved in during the years 1948-2018. The study was done using text analysis and with the theories concerning othering, stereotyping and identity. The material used was protocols from debates in the Swedish parliament. Othering showed that Swedish politicians tends to express that they know better than the parties in the conflict, Swedish politicians show affinity with Israel and that Israel is an important ally both ideologically and strategically. Stereotyping showed that stereotyping was more common in the beginning of the researched timeframe than in the end of it.
