Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The aim of our study was to see which connections, if any, there are between living environment and psychological well-being for individuals who are working from home. In today's flexible work-life, working from home is a common feature, which makes this topic an interesting one to explore.
We chose to do a quantitative correlation study. To gather data we used a digital online survey. 100 workers who work from home or have worked from home participated in the study.
The results of the study showed that there is a significant connection between the two variables in the external living environment that we looked at, relaxing living environment and green areas, and psychological well-being. However the results of the study did not find... (More)

The results of the study showed that there is a significant connection between the two variables in the external living environment that we looked at, relaxing living environment and green areas, and psychological well-being. However the results of the study did not find any significant connections between the two variables in the internal living environment that we looked at, working undisturbed and working at a designated area, and psychological well-being. As well as this, the results of the study also showed multiple connections between the four variables in the living environment that we looked at and the different parts of psychological well-being. These are self acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life and personal growth.
The results of the study regarding the connections between living environment and psychological well-being for workers who work from home can be meaningful for housing developers, community planners, employees and employers to create a sustainable work life and community. (Less)
