(Less) - Abstract

Research question: Does the use of color on social media affect consumers' buying
intentions?
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how color used on social media affects consumer behavior.
Methodology: The study is designed out of a quantitative research method, which is then tested with a web experiment with 80 total respondents. A T-test was performed to measure if there was a significant difference between the experimental groups. Cronbach's Alpha was performed to prove the different variables in the form of validity and then ended with a hypothesis test where the intention was to test the null hypothesis.
Theoretical perspectives: The theoretical frame of reference is covered by: Brand
personality, buying intention, color research, cognitive psychology and the use of social media.
Result: The results show a significant difference between the groups (Red) and (Blue) regarding purchase intention and brand personality.
Conclusions: Our study shows that there is a significant difference in consumers' buying intention and brand personality depending on color exposure. We can thus draw the parallel that the use of color on social media affects consumers' buying intentions. (Less)
