(2022) EEML05 20221Department of Biomedical Engineering
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
- Abstract
- This thesis examines the possibilities of using HoloLens-2 in healthcare. The thesis describes an application that can be used to load .obj files and display them as 3D models in augmented reality using a HoloLens-2. The 3D models displayed using the application contribute to a better understanding than traditional 2D images would, as the 3D model can be scaled, rotated and positioned by the user in a virtual room. This type of solution can be used, among other things, as an aid in cardiac catheterization and other complicated procedures as well as an aid for doctors at rounds or multidisciplinary conferences. The application can also be used as a tool to explain complicated anatomies and procedures for relatives and patients with... (More)

The application can also be used as a tool to explain complicated anatomies and procedures for relatives and patients with congenital heart defects. The thesis addresses how the performance of HoloLens-2 is affected by file size and what the consequences are for the user experience. The thesis also discusses future development opportunities for the application and possible methods for how they can be implemented. (Less)
