(2023) SOPB63 20222School of Social Work
- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to examine how social service handles incorrect information about them that is spreading on social media. This study is based on a qualitative method. In order to achieve the purpose of this work, the focus has been on the unit of child protection services and seven social workers have been interviewed. The study shows that social workers only handle incorrect information in private meetings with their clients and no one has experience facing incorrect information on social media based on their professional role. The study also shows that there is a struggle for social workers to be simultaneously in the field of social media and social work due to threats, their client's privacy, and lack of management support.
