Abstract
The problem that is interesting to investigate today is how EU laws have a different impact on different countries. During the refugee crisis in 2015, it was an event that affected many countries. However, the crisis was handled differently by the member states. The purpose of this essay has therefore been to investigate possible explanations for the handling of a crisis. This through political, economic and social factors. Hence, this study will examine how the two different countries, Poland and Sweden contributed during the crisis.

This through political, economic and social factors. Hence, this study will examine how the two different countries, Poland and Sweden contributed during the crisis.

The essay has had a layout with the "most similar design". This is to be able to take a stand and analyze different outcomes from the same guidelines. Sweden has proven to be one of the most helpful nations during the crisis. On the other hand, Poland has met the crisis with skepticism.

So why did member states handle the refugee crisis differently? And what explanations were there for this? The answer takes its discussion and conclusion within a national starting point. It is rather a matter of priorities for a country and what is most desirable. If it is a global crisis that takes precedence, or the country's own well-being. Or if it is possible to take both into account. The problem is not the guidelines, the problem is the national identity, economic well-being and political background which affects a countryś ability to manage.
This affects how a country handles a crisis differently. (Less)
