Three research questions were formulated: Is it possible to renovate the houses from the million homes program and keep the rents at a reasonable level? How has Trianon managed to keep the rents low after renovations? How has Trianons focus on social sustainability contributed to counteract renovictions in Lindängen? To answer these questions, two methods were used: Document analysis and an interview. These methods were coded with terms relating to renovation and marketization of the housing sector. The study shows that Trianon has managed to renovate individual apartments with a low rent increase. When it comes to the larger renovations concerning the whole building, Trianon has some challenges to overcome before they can succeed with their goal to provide affordable housing. Their work with social sustainability does not have any direct correlation with their renovations and following rent increase. (Less)
