Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate students' attitudes towards group affiliation and social norms within study-social contexts in Lund. Three main areas were identified for closer examination: the significance of alcohol, the social context, and sexual assault. A survey was conducted with participants from Lund University (N = 133). ANOVA analyses and χ² Goodness of Fit tests were employed to explore potential differences in attitudes among gender identities (men and women) and various positions within study-social contexts. Demographic variables such as gender identity, year of study, and level of involvement in study-social activities were included to analyze associations and differences in participants' responses. The results revealed that... (More)

The results revealed that alcohol is a significant and widely accepted aspect of the study-social environment in Lund. Expectations regarding alcohol consumption also varied between men and women. It was found that there is a tendency for barriers, abuse of power, and unwritten social hierarchies within the study-social context in Lund, with experiences differing among different gender identities and positions. Participants were also asked to provide their input on a scenario involving a sexual assault in a study-social setting. Furthermore, participants were asked to share their own experiences regarding sexual assault, and how the situations were handled. This study contributes to an increased understanding of students' attitudes toward social norms and group affiliation within study-social contexts in Lund. The report can further serve as a foundation for informing and developing the study environment in the future. (Less)
