Previous research has explored the role of consulting firms in shaping sustainability practices, but there has been a lack of investigation into how these firms implement their sustainability strategies. This study aims to fill this gap by exploring the factors and strategic tools a consulting firm employs to implement its corporate sustainability strategies across its organization, by using the case study of Company X. The findings suggest that four main factors are driving the company’s sustainability strategies, including external, internal and business contexts, as well as human resources. Moreover, findings show that two key factors are part of shaping and influencing sustainability strategies: employee engagement and leadership. Without these factors, sustainability strategies can be ineffective. Lastly, similarly to previous research, the findings show that the company employs sustainability structures, systems, programs, and actions to implement its sustainability strategies across the organization.
