When humanitarians leave: Exit strategies and the accountability of international organizations providing humanitarian health assistance

Abstract
Exit strategies constitute a pivotal moment of humanitarian action and greatly determine the sustainability of programmes’ outcomes. Despite their significance, they are often rushed and fail to consider the impact on aid recipients. This thesis aims to examine the exit strategies’ aspirations of four international organizations providing humanitarian health assistance through the lens of accountability to affected people.
