förbättra elevers delaktighet i skolan.
Resultat: I analysen
(More)

Abstract
Background: Problematic school absenteeism has increased in recent years
and has become a societal problem. Children's future and development is
largely determined by their ability to complete school. An occupational therapy

in school. Aim: The aim is to investigate occupational therapists' experiences

of supporting students with problematic school absence. Method: A qualitative
interview study in which 10 occupational therapists were included was
analyzed with qualitative content analysis. Results: In the analysis, seven
categories emerged; Knowledge of causes of problematic school absenteeism,
the importance of therapeutic alliance to promote school attendance, capturing
the student's motivation by focusing on small steps to succeed, basic routines
need to be strengthened for gradual return to school, adaptations in the school
environment can promote increased participation, promote a common point of
view for students, preventive measures are important to prevent problematic
school absenteeism at an early stage. Conclusion: A limitation is that
occupational therapists in Sweden are not available to all students.
Occupational therapists could have been involved and contributed to
preventive work with problematic school absences and, together with other
professions, created better conditions for students to participate in the school's teaching and activities. (Less)
