The theoretical framework chosen were Aaron Antonovskys theories about SOC (sence of coherence) and Jürgen Habermas theories about communicative action and life world versus system world. The study shows that the smartphone is very important to the young people. It represents a safety and stability in the young people’s lives. There is a ambivalence between the perception of wishing to manage the smartphone on their own and experiencing gains from adult restrictions. Especially when it comes to the school performances. The adults way of restricting the young people’s smartphone behavior is a topic which leads to several negative emotions from the young people. Like for example irritation, resistance as well as distancing from parents/school staff. (Less)
