Abstract
This essay aims to examine how the Swedish feminist debate about trans inclusive feminism in 2018 can be described in terms of agonistic and deliberative democratic ideals. In order to examine the overall research question, the analysis asks how the texts describe the debate, earlier texts, arguments and writers, how they describe feminism and what the goal of the debate seems to be. In order to examine the overall research question, the analysis asks how the texts describe the debate, earlier texts, arguments and writers, how they describe feminism and what the goal of the debate seems to be. The results show that different parts of the debate can be described in terms of both of the ideals, and that most of the texts consist of ideas that can be linked to both. This shows an inconsistent attitude towards the democratic conversation; it could however be explained by the question being about inclusion, which is an essential condition in both ideals. (Less)
