The title and quote “She didn’t walk like a girlfriend. She walked like a boss.” is said by a witness after seeing Griselda joining a drug trafficking meeting and the quote is distinguishing some of the conclusions in this thesis. This study concludes that these tv-shows portray their female criminal characters as dependent on using criminality as a means to leave poverty and gain success regardless if they are involved willingly or not. Whilst engaging in criminality, they are portrayed as masculine and to gain sympathy the portrayal enhances their feminine characteristics, especially when it comes to motherhood and sensuality.
