The frameworks by O’Brien and Sygna (2013) and Bramley et al. (2009) provide valuable insights into societal spheres and social sustainability dimensions, shedding light on the complexities of urban development and its impact on various aspects of sustainability. The study indicates that the densification strategy is well known and a frequently used one and depending on how people tend to define the concept of social sustainability, the attitude towards the municipality's consideration towards it are different. The conclusion is that densification has some positive effects, mostly on the economic aspect of sustainable development since it creates a more resource effective society, but also on the social aspects because denser structures contribute to greater accessibility and opportunities.
