Abstract
As democratic transitions and social movements become more complex, there is a need to rethink the transition paradigm through the lens of intersectional solidarity. By applying a qualitative approach based on elite interviews and a category-based content analysis, this thesis examines the potential of the Women Life Freedom protests in Iran for democratization. In Iran, the protesting women and their demands are supported by various social groups, even across borders. The thesis argues that this intersectional solidarity builds the foundation for potential future democratization efforts.
