This highlights the importance of initiatives like the Internet Archive for preserving static content but underscores the need for updated approaches to capture user activity. Through interviews and observations, the result shows that preservation efforts are influenced by technical, legal, ethical, and economic factors, as well as the personal commitment of users, companies, and institutions. Due to resource constraints, the primary responsibility for collecting and preserving content from these platforms falls on dedicated users and the companies themselves through initiatives like Facebook groups, revived sites and personal digital archiving.
