Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine how high paid and low paid individuals differ when it comes to personality and intelligence. The study has answered the following research question; “What is the relationship between specific personality traits, intelligence and how financially successful someone becomes?”. The study consisted of a quantitative method with questionnaires as the basis for the data collection. The questionnaire included the IPIP-NEO-30 personality test, the ICAR-16 intelligence test and information about the participants income. The study got a total of 57 participants who answered the questionnaire, whereof 36 women and 21 men. A One-Way ANOVA was conducted to test the hypothesis of the study. The results exhibited that... The results exhibited that highly paid individuals had a higher level of conscientiousness (4,16 versus 3,84), lower levels of neuroticism (1,90 versus 2,66) and a higher IQ (8,85 versus 6,61) than the lower paid individuals. There were no significant differences between the two groups when it comes to agreeableness, extraversion and openness. Previous research suggests that extraversion is another indicator for economic success, but these findings were not consistent with our results. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
