“Det behöver inte vara orgasm, det kan vara njutning överlag!” En intervjustudie om äldre kvinnors upplevelse av sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse

- Individers förhållningssätt och tillfredsställelse rörande sin sexualitet har visat sig hänga nära samman med upplevt mående och hälsa. Äldre kvinnors upplevelse av sin sexualitet är ett relativt outforskat område, speciellt i en svensk kontext. Mot bakgrund av detta var syftet med denna studie att skapa en fördjupad förståelse och kunskap kring 65-80 åriga kvinnors upplevelse av sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse. Frågeställningen löd: Hur upplevs sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse för kvinnor i åldrarna 65-80 år? Mot bakgrund av detta var syftet med denna studie att skapa en fördjupad förståelse och kunskap kring 65-80 åriga kvinnors upplevelse av sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse. Frågeställningen löd: Hur upplevs sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse för kvinnor i åldrarna 65-80 år? Data samlades in genom åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyserades genom en reflexiv tematisk analys där följande huvudteman framkom: Sexualitet är alltid mellan två, Kan man prata om sex, eller?, Vad tänder jag på? och Man vill känna sig attraktiv!. Studien visade att såväl samtal om sex som vilken form av sexuell aktivitet som ägde rum påverkades av kulturella ideal och normer. Onani klassades i första hand som ett andrahandsval till sexuell aktivitet med en partner, och flera deltagare uttryckte vikten av närhet till en partner för att uppleva sig som sexuellt tillfredsställd. Även förhållningssättet till den egna kroppen belystes som en viktig aspekt för sexualiteten. Resultatet går i huvudsak i linje med tidigare forskning, och belyser återigen att sexualitet och sexuell tillfredsställelse är individuellt och påverkat av flera aspekter. Utifrån denna studie kan äldre kvinnors sexualitet och sexuella tillfredsställelse framförallt förstås utifrån ett individuellt förhållningssätt till lust och till sin kropp, relationella aspekter och samhälleliga normer. Masturbation was primarily classified as a secondary choice to sexual activity with a partner, and several participants expressed the importance of closeness to a partner to experience sexual satisfaction. The attitude towards one's own body was also highlighted as an important aspect of sexuality. The result is essentially in line with previous research, and highlights once again that sexuality and sexual satisfaction are individual and influenced by several aspects. Based on this study, we conclude that older women's sexuality and sexual satisfaction can be primarily understood based on an individual approach to desire and to their body, relational aspects and societal norms.
