Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate how different energy-efficient renovation measures may affect the energy performance of older detached houses. The study involves a review of previous research and a case study of one detached house built in 1919, and investigates the impact of technical measures and different user behaviors on energy performance. The case study was conducted by using the simulation program IDA ICE. It also involved a financial profitability assessment of the various renovation measures. The results of the study show that all seven investigated renovation measures reduced the heating requirement for the case study house. Installation of two heat pumps in combination with an additional insulated facade proved to reduce the heating requirement the most. The result of the financial viability assessment showed that the majority of the renovation measures can be considered profitable over time, although profitability is highly dependent on future energy prices. The study also reveals that different user behaviors can both increase and reduce the need for heating. (Less)
